McDonald’s, made in gold and silver

McDonald’s French fries in 24-karat gold in a silver carton bearing the golden arches, on a black base

For McDonald’s, D’Argenta turned the brand’s most familiar things into a family of sculptures: the fries, the burger, the golden arches over the restaurant sign, and Ronald himself.

Colour, without paint

McDonald’s is one of the most colour-dependent brands in the world, and none of these pieces carries a drop of colour. The two metals do that work: gold wherever the brand is golden — the arches, the fries — and silver for everything around them. The result is unmistakably McDonald’s, and unmistakably not a toy.

Designing as a family matters just as much. Each piece stands on its own, but together they read as a set, so a restaurant group can mark different achievements with different pieces that still belong together.

How a brand uses a collection like this

Awards for the best restaurants and franchisees, gifts for suppliers and partners, recognition for long service, and pieces for the boardroom or the headquarters lobby. One design approved by the brand, made in the quantity each occasion needs.
